By touching a body, we touch every event it has experienced. For a few brief moments we hold all of a client’s stories in our hands. We witness someone’s experience of their own flesh, through some of the most powerful means possible: the contact of our hands, the acceptance of the body without judgment, and the occasional listening ear. With these gestures we reach across the isolation of the human experience and hold another person’s legend. intro to thai yoga massage.

i am heading over to hawthorne yoga and reiki in philly on saturday to get my first thai yoga massage from philadelphia bodywork collective member vanessa hazzard-tillman. i have never experienced thai yoga massage before so i am really looking forward to it!

Live in rooms full of light
Avoid heavy food
Be moderate in the drinking of wine
Take massage, baths, exercise, and gymnastics
Fight insomnia with gentle rocking or the sound of running water
Change surroundings and take long journeys
Strictly avoid frightening ideas
